These terms apply to your use of Cedar by Arboreal AI ("Cedar," "we," "us"), a daily habit check-in service delivered via SMS.
The service
Program name: Cedar by Arboreal AI
Cedar sends you daily check-in and coaching messages via text. It's designed to help you build habits through short, conversational check-ins. It is not a replacement for professional medical or mental health treatment.
Cedar's messages are generated by an AI. You are not texting with a person.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to sign up for or use Cedar.
SMS details
- Message frequency. Varies. Typically 1-2 messages per day during active check-in periods, plus occasional onboarding and broadcast messages.
- Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates for sending and receiving text messages apply.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to agree to receive texts in order to buy anything from us.
- HELP. Reply HELP to any Cedar message for support, or email [email protected].
- STOP. Reply STOP to any Cedar message to opt out and stop receiving texts.
How you sign up
You sign up on one of our websites and complete an intake survey (hosted on Tally) where you provide your phone number and agree to receive recurring automated SMS messages from Cedar by Arboreal AI. We then send you a personalized SMS invitation. You confirm by texting your activation code back, which serves as your explicit opt-in. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
What we expect
Use Cedar in good faith. Don't use the service to harass, spam, or do anything illegal. We reserve the right to remove users who misuse the service.
Not medical advice
Cedar is a habit-building tool. It is not a medical device, therapy, or substitute for professional healthcare. If you're in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency services.
Availability
Cedar is an early-stage product. We do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, pause, or discontinue features as we develop.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make meaningful changes, we'll let you know via text or email.
